PenDance is
dedicated to providing quality calligraphy and engraving
services to brides, stationers, wedding consultants,
event planners, caterers, and anyone who appreciates the
fine art of hand-rendered lettering. We also offer
envelope printing services which provides a fast
turn-around for clients who need their envelopes
addressed quickly and inexpensively.
We are a family-owned and operated business that has
provided professional calligraphy and engraving services
to Houston area clients for over 7 years. We also
receive many jobs from long-distance clients and have
designed invitation ensembles and addressed envelopes
and place cards for brides and stationers from around
the country, including Hawaii.
I have been a professional calligrapher since
1991, and an engraver since 2001. I added freehand engraving to my services to help
brides who wanted to engrave their toasting glasses but
couldn't find companies who would engrave fine crystal
like Waterford. Freehand engraving is very versatile,
allowing me to engrave almost anywhere on a glass or
metal item where there's a smooth surface. I've even
engraved short messages and Bible verses around the
bases of toasting glasses.
I handle all hand calligraphy and freehand engraving
services, while Don, my husband and business partner,
offers his computer and artistic talents as printer and
sandcarver. (Don also gets roped into proofreading all
of my hand calligraphy jobs before they are delivered to
my clients.) We work in a spacious, sun-lit studio
located behind our house, and enjoy a short commute each
day when we go to work!
My worktable is situated near my computer, so I
frequently takes "ergonomic" breaks to answer emails
or phone calls as
they come in. Even though this can be interruptive, I
know that people who contact us appreciate rapid
responses to their questions or requests for quotes.
We pride ourselves on being very organized and
maintaining a neat studio. We appreciate the expense of
wedding stationery, and carefully label all boxes and
count envelopes and place cards as they come in to
ensure that everything is in order. All paper goods are
stored in a large walk-in closet which is easily
accessible as we move from one job to the next.
We meet with our clients during the week by appointment,
sometimes in the evenings to help accommodate clients
who work too far away to visit us during the day. We are
happy to have clients ship us items across Houston to
save driving time (and gas!), or across the country if
they are not local.
After a client decides to use our services, our favorite
method of communication is email, especially when we
have long-distance clients. This provides both us and
the client a "paper trail" of decisions that were made
during the job.
If you have any questions about our services or would
like to request a quote, please call us at (281)
558-7856 or submit an
online quote.
